Default Battery Replacement

So, my battery died yesterday, and we had the alternator tested this morning and that is not it. From what I understand in the owners manual, the battery is under the passenger side rear seat? Can I remove the seat easily and do it myself? Thanks, Brad

Yes Brad,

you can easily remove the back seat just by pulling it away, its just clip there.

The battery is on the passenger side, but you will easily see when the seat will be removed.
(note that the back stay in place, just the seat is removable)

Happy holidays!

Mike

I'm pretty sure that I read in a post a while back that sears carries one that fits.

Found it!

For everyone'* information, after hunting around I found a replacement battery for the 2000+ Bonneville at Sears. Their DieHard International Group 79 #3379 is an exact match, including the top vents that we require.

The 3379 has 800 CCA, and an 8 year warranty (with free replacement for the first 3 years). Cost is $99.99.

Well, I got it replaced after work today and my car is all better now! The battery was corroded pretty bad somehow. I went to unscrew the positive terminal and one twist and the hole thing came off! Had to use some pliers to hold the other end so I could get the screw out. Autozone had it in stock luckily. It only took me a total of 15 minutes to do if that. Thanks for the help! Brad

I've got to jump in here.. Had the SAME problem with TWO AC/Delco batteries. They leak out the terminals (both of mine were out the positive also).

EVERYONE needs to pop up that back seat and feel underneath each terminal to verify they aren't leaking! The acid will destroy the paint and etc underneath there. I am fiercely against AC/DELCO batteries after hearing others having the same problems. Our Suburban has nothing but rust underneath the battery tray from them leaking. Replaced with a Walmart battery and actually feel safer..

FYI.. Pat
