Default HELP!! RAIN INSIDE THE CAR.

We had very hard rainfall yesterday. I went to my car today and I was shocked to fing the whole front compartment saturated with water. It looked like I had left the windows open. I remember my 94 use to get a little water but nothing like this.
OKAY GUYS. I'm counting on everybody. What is the deal here?!?

Two words, water deflectors. Was both the driver & passenger floors wet? With the drivers door open, pour a liter bottle of water directly on the window. look under the interior door panel in vicinity of the speaker and all along that bottom edge. If you see water running out, then your water deflector butyl seal has failed.

Would you be able to be more specific about this water deflectors and butyl seal? The car is still under warranty so will the dealer fix this? Yes, both driver and passenger was saturated, boderline flooded.

Thanks, and sorry for my lack of knowlege in this area.

you have to take your door panel off which is very easy...someone will chime in with that..... but here is the area that Mark is talking about......its common in our cars....easy fix.

try it yourself or take it to the dealer...

Yo Mike, check out nitro'* pic. That is as specific as it gets. Try the liter bottle of water "test". At least if you go to the dealership for warranty, you can tell them precisely where the leaks are. I mean they should know because it is a common prob on 2000+ Bonnes.

Thanks for the pic, nitro.

Thanks guys, I just made an appointment with the dealer. I'll keep you guys posted as to what happens. I really hope this car doesn't turn out to be a lemon. My fiance has been chewing me out. She didn't want me to buy an American car. I've been hearing the I told you so all day. If the power windows fail like everyone hear say they will, well then, I'm going to be regreting getting this car also.

there are very few problems you can expect to have, but you can definately expect the.. the windows, water leaks, and wheel bearing failures. Your likely going to have some of these issues, but nothing much more..

Okay guys, here'* whats going on so far. I took my car to the dealer and they said that there outfit that deals with water leaks comes in on Wednesday. So in the mean time I'm having them look at my steering because I was also having a problem with slow turns. Some loosness. Turns out to be the intermediate shaft. There replacing that. The paint on my front nose is complettly faded. They'll be looking at that tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a new paint job. Good luck with that one. So I'll let you guys know on wednesday what the dealer says about the water leak.

Okay, I got my car back. They resealed the left and right side moisture barrier. Hopefully, this will fix the problem. I'll find out soon enough with all this rain we've been having.
