Startup noise and sulfer smell
OK, now I have talked about this before thinking it was a supercharger problem, itwasn't. Heres my deal, when I start my car it makes a noise while it warms up. You know that noise the straw makes when you run out of soda from burger king? It's like that only deeper and louder.
Now about the sulfer smell. I can't figure out if it is a failing catalytic converter or just me burning the carbon deposits in the motor from running it hard. (I only drive it every couple of days because I'm still waiting on the title so I go up and down the road opening her up really good and keeping the battery charged. Any help would be greatly appreciated . |
Sure sounds like a catalyitc converter still ;)
No amount of spirited driving makes it smell like sulphur (yep..tested it personally) |
the sound too? I would maybe think the sound is the computer trying to do something to correct the difference the clogged converter makes when warming up. But how long do you think I can stick it out untill I need to go ahead and get one?

And you'll want an O2 sensor as well if it hasn't been changed since it wiped out the cat. Good news is.. an aftermarket hi flow catalytic is much lower cost than a dealer replacement. |
And it seems there were issues with the 00-01's regaurding the cat...

wow thanks for the link, do you know what tools I'll need for the install? It says something about cutting an intermediate pipe.
|
Do you already have Archon's, do it yourself for almost no cost regulator fix instructions?
|
