Can not find what'* causing vibration?????????
I have a vibration at 60-75 mph that'* driving me crazy, Had new tires put on. Had them balanced twice. Had a front new one replaced with a another new one.Took car back in for the third time. Bad front driver side tie rod replaced. Still vibrates. My guy says motor mounts going bad might be it.
1. What would motor mounts have to do with vibrating at 60-75 mph?
2. Any suggestions as to what to check next?
Thanks,
Bill

Try jacking up the car and get the tire off the ground. Then grab the wheel at teh top, and bottom and try to wiggle the tire. Then grab teh tire on each side and do the same. Do you have any play? Any play in either wheel can cause a vibration. I will assume you have determined the vibration is coming from the front.

A bad axle or hub/bearing assembly will be alot more likely than a mount at that speed.
Follow Danthur'* advice on the bearing play. Bearings on the 2k'* seem to be more common for failing than the earlier gen'*.

Had it up on the rack this week. there was side to side play on driver front.. replaced a tie rod on that side. its a little better, but still vibrates at high speed. my mechanic says motor mounts next. i'm tired of guessing, but i guess that'* all we can do. i might just learn to live with it, since it does not seem to be a safty issue anyone can find. what do you think?

It'* tedious but you have to do the tests to figure it out. Bearings do not always show 'play' when you strong arm them. They do show you, if you have bad ones, if you try the steering test. That can even tell you which side it is by which way you turn to make the noise change. I had to change one side at 60K and the other at 70K. Learned the steering trick on the first one and it'* fool proof.

If you do replace the front wheel bearing assembly(*) make sure you buy the premium ones at the good parts stores like NAPA or Carquest or INTENSE (see above). The cheap parts store'* assemblies are garbage. The first one I replaced with a cheap one was worse after replacement.
