2002 Front Brake Instructions?
Brand new here...so please be patient w/me. I tried searching, but found nothing. Need to replace front brake pads tonight on my moms 2002 SE...metal on metal contact. I'm doing this for my mom and she didn't tell me before now that she wasing having any problems.
Do you have any step by step instructions, special tools required or hints to make this go smoothly?
Thanks.

This information is from AllDataDiy.com, and is their demo vehicle - 2003 Bonneville. There should be at most minor differences, if any.
Brake Pads Replacement - Front
Edit - BTW, welcome to the BonnevilleClub. When you have the time, read through the techinfo articles (link at the top of the page) for some good information.

Good catch, Toasty! Here are the instructions for that. You'll only use part of it though, as you're replacing the pads, too. Pay particular attention to the "Important" section that talks of removing rust from the mating surface on the hub.
If the rotor does not come off easily, a bit of penetrating oil around the center, and a few good whacks with a hammer, to set up a vibration, will free it up.

A first time subscription for one year, I think, runs about $25. Renewals, and added vehicles after you have the first is $14.95 for a year. They have 3 year deals, too. If you sell the vehicle and purchase another, they will transfer the subscription to the new vehicle. Limit of once per year.
