Transmission problem?
I have a 03 SLE with 57k miles and when you put the car into drive or reverse it doesnt start rolling until you push the gas, no movement under idle condition , brake off and on level ground...the transmission shifts fine and seems to work properly through out all gears up shifting and down shifting...IS this normal for these vehicles? it feels like the emergency brake is holding it up but it is not the case.
thanks in advance,
Ed

it nots normal, have you done a brake job recently on the rear??? I did that and my car does the same thing some times. its either the camber bolts or the E-Brake cable. try to get some new bolts first and go from there!! thats what i am going to do. try working yout ebrake line also at stops or home..... apply it and disengage it.

If you roll is slowly on a flat surface..does it seem like something is stopping it once you let off?
If not I'd say the idle is low enough and it shouldn't be a problem..Maybe a tune up is in order.

Quote:
Subject: Rear Brake Moaning Noise >>> 09/13/02
Vehicles Involved: 2000 - 01 Bonnevilles
Summary: Replace rear parking brake cables, and/or replace caliper bolt.
This condition may occur shortly after installing new rear brake pads as outlined in PSB 00-05-23-001.
This condition is isolated to very few vehicles and it is not related to the new brake pads outlined in the bulletin. The usual cause for this issue is either a binding caliper or the parking brake cable applying tension to the caliper. Binding calipers are the most likely cause of this condition.
