trans slipping
Some times when I accelerate in my 2000 SE The RPM goes to 3,000 and abruptly engages. What can I do to fix this?

Did you happen to check your fluid before it went? For level and color?
That'* a VERY early failure.
Oh, I vote for trans shop too. None of the 'chain' shops. Ask friends and family. Find a place by reputation.

I add my vote to take it to a good local tranny shop, rather than a chain or the dealer. I also agree and checking the condition of the fluid. On previous cars, I'd go every other year or so before changing the tranny fluid. Now, I alternate years of drop the pan and change the fluid and filter one year, and a flush the next. Seeing how dark the fluid had become in just one year of normal driving is what prompted this.

Mc donalds used to have good fries. Got tranny swaped from a totaled 2003 SLE with 25,000 miles for $300. Was swaped out by a student for a local garage.
