Default rear window help

I just took apart my right rear window. Problem- My motor/regulator is fine. I need new wire and little spool that wire wraps around. Can I buy that by itself? What do I need to fix that? Price and part # would be appreciated. Or a link, as I am sure this has been answered before. Thanks everyone.

I don't think you can buy those individual parts. I'm thinking you'll have to fabricate new. I think Archon has rebuilt the mechanical portion of the regulators before. Maybe he'll chime in here. look at this thread:http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...hlight=#483554Is this the type of info you're looking for?

that cord is part of the "regulator" assembly..

what you described IS infact the regulator failure that nearly everyone encounters in a 2000+ bonnie

I had that same thing happen to one of my rears, but I was to bullheaded to wait for a part. I trimmed the wire and cut the spring in half, then moved it to the next spot on that nylon piece. Its not necessarily supposed to work like that, but i did mine over a year ago and it still works perfectly.

Thanks for the info guys. By reading some of the serches I think I have decided to just clamp the window in the up position until I can afford a new part, or find one in the junk yard. It seems like a good fix.(I never use the back window anyways.)

Mine has same problem rear pass, a mechanic is ordering a part from yard for it $120, in Canada dealer wants $ 600 for reg and motor. Ill take the yard part.Looks easy enough to install yourself but he did my safety as I just bought it and said he could order part, so I just said go ahead.

I didn't do a lot of searching, but I was unable to find anywhere that sold individual parts for the regulator. Finding a good regulator at a boneyard is a crap shoot. Rebuilding it didn't take all that long...only maybe 3 hours which includes the time standing around, scratching my head thinking about how I wanted to do it. The spool did have some damage, but it still worked fine when I got it back together. Clamping the window up works ok, but at least with mine, it leaked a little water when run through the car wash. Plus, I hate having something on my car that isn't working, even if I hardly use it.

You can get one from regulatorusa.com for $165 and the guy says he reinforces the cable anchor. Lifetime free replacement.
