Default What the heck is this thing and how do I replace it?

I'm leaking coolant and I've finally found out where, but I don't know how to fix it. Behind and to the right of the serpentine belt tensioner (when looking at the engine from the passenger side), is an "L" shaped plastic pipe that apparently has a small crack in it. When the engine gets hot, it starts to spray coolant. I'm not sure if it'* a water pump outlet to the manifold, or what. Along with that, I don't know how to remove and/or replace it. Thanks.

That'* your coolant elbow. They cost about $5 at autozone. It'* a bit of a pain to change, but you should be able to do it with basic tools. Remove the alt bracket and you will be able to change both elbows.

It has a rubber O ring on both sides. But they like to stick, the brake off. So use your finger to check.

It probably isn't cracked...but it has an O-ring that goes on it...it has a 10mm bolt that holds that l bracket to the aluminum cover...pull the bolt (car cool and no pressure)...wiggle the fitting and it should pop out...then go to the auto parts and get the EXACT o-ring and reinstall it
