Got a 2000 SSEi and only when its realy cold and I first start the car my DIC reads service security system. Whats this mean?

I have the same thing that randomly happens. I think its either somethin to do with the car cranking over a lil harder than normal or prolly our security chipped keys going bad. I had the chip go bad in my old lumina and a similar thing happend

May not be a bad idea to clean the chip on the key.

On your ignition key there is a little black box with a thin strip of metal inside of it, that is your security device.

Don't know-could it be in the remote or plastic on key?

It says it'* a transponder key, so it must be inside the plastic.
