Default Front motor mount...

My front motor mount is ready to be replaced.

i called to the dealer and they sell it 200$ ,
ive heard about a solid front motor mount that some guys here have,
I want to know if it worth doing it? if it last longer than an original...

If yes, i have NO clue how to do it, can someone explain me the exact way to do it, wich material, tool, step by step... etc..

Thx

Mike

I cant find what i want to know,
is it good or bad? simple

ive already search, may be i dont search the right place and the right way.

All thread talk about members that have done it, but it doesnt tell me how.

If someone know how and want to help me not redirect me to the start line.

i made a 3" wide motor mount for my car, but i made a 2 1/2" wide motor mount for a friend and it works just as GOOD. we used a 2 1/2" hole saw and cut holes (wafers) in the sidewall of an old truck tire.

p.*. a 3 5/8" tall mount is what i have in my car.

Alrighty....I'm in. I have my sway bar, but have not put it in, as I would rather have a solid mount, than bend the bar to miss the alternator.

Aluminum bar stock...check
7.5 Inch, grade 8 bolt ... check
Nylock nut....check
Back up nut, put double nutting ... check
Big A washers ... Check

What the heck is a urethane body grommet/mount etc. Where did you guys order yours from, or what specifically should i ask for at a Pepboys? (Like car model that would have the right size, or a part number.....I find that Pepboys is fairly unwilling to just open box after box)

Appreciate the help,

Freddi

you dont need a grade 8 bolt . if you want to you can use a hole saw and an old tire (sidewall) instead of the( urethane body grommet/mount ).
