Default remote starter on 2000 SSEI

My mom wants to install a remote starter on her 2000 SSEI. How doable is this, how much for the 'parts', and how much for the install, should we decide to have it done.

Thanks.

You need to bypass the theft system , wich is a little comlicated , mine take 4 hour to install (install in a shop) cost me 400$ can. And broke before the end of the first winter...crap

Theres a lot of stuff to bypass, and i wasnt able to open the trunk with the GM remote when the car was running on the remote starter.(at 1 feet it opened...)

Be sure someone will do it the right way, mine was not too good i think.

You can get it install at many place, just find the best deal for your need (or the need of your mother) ...distance...options...etc..

Goodluck

I had mine installed on my 92 se. It cost about 290, installed, which included changing out the lock and trunk controls, meaning all locks as well as remote starting capabilities were on one key fob. Otherwise, I could have had the remote installed for 189. I didn't care to have a separate fob for the remote starter so I paid the 290. I had it done at a local car audio store. It works great! Don't know if their are other factors associated with the newer model bonnevilles.

Default remote starter

i have had alot of stuff done to my previous cars at tweeter and i have had no problems. but a remote starter is more complicated. tweeter is very good and they have alot of experance with remote starters. my boss had a remote starter put in his 05 town car and they did a great job when best buy messed up. i also had them do some stereo work on my 94 eldo and 77 monte and they did really good work. they are a bit pricy but they are the best. remember that you get what you pay for so pay for a good job and it will be a good job.
