Default Coolant flush question

Well I think I need to flush the coolant. My over flow tank is looking pretty nasty. How should this be done? I have been told several things from a flush t, to pulling the plug on the radiator. Do we have a plug to pull on the radiator? If we do id go with that then fill with water and run it drain and repeat until it is clear. Any advice, tips, how to write ups(I didn't find anything via the search tab). As always Ty to those who help with advice.

I don't recall there being a petcock on the radiator- last time I flushed the coolant on my 2001 SSEi I just pulled the lower radiator hose.

On the dirty coolant tank- I recommend removing it (fairly easy) and cleaning it out. Looks good to have a clean tank. You can also buy a new coolant holding tank for around $30.

I wouldn't get caught draining coolant onto the ground. EPA is pretty strict and will open up a can of whoop ***.

Flushing the system can be pretty messy and it involves chemicals. I suggest having it done at a shop.

But, like Mike said. Pop the lower rad hose off and it will drain pretty quick.

Ok guys thanks for the input. I will call the place where I get my work done see what it will cost. Any ball park ideas? Also is it just me or do the radiator caps on the 03'* not come completely off and just loosen?

Most of the shops in my area (Tampa Florida) are charging around $90 for a drain & fill - - $150 for a cooling system (chemical) flush & fill.

But don't take it to one of those 20 minute oil change places. They will F*** you 7 ways to Sunday. Pony up and take it to the dealer. At least most of the techs have seen a 3800.
