Rear window.. or any one who has/had window problems

Ok this is the second post on this issue..

Uhh basically i need to figure out how hard it is to replace the rear window regulators and how many people have had this type of problem.

Some background info:
When i was drving down the highway last week my rear passenger side window started to slide down. For me not a fun thing, but this is the second time it happend. The first was when i had just bought the car.. (year or so) and about the time i got it off the lot the window on the drivers side rear fell. The dealer replaced it no big deal. Of course ididnt get the exteneded warrenty so i have to fix it (or pay .. a lot to have the dealer do it)

Well now i need help! hehe I am not afraid of workinf on my car.. actually the door is in pieces now.. *grins* but im not sure how to get the glass out and the regulator out.. i still have to order the part which i did find thanks to you guys! on gmpartsdirect.com so i have alittle time to get some feed back.

any respose is appreciated! Thanks

You're not alone. I just had to have my 2000 passanger rear regulator and motor redone. Worst of all the regulator burnt out the motor and regulator is not covered by warrenty, so the warrently wouldn't cover the moter either! :x But of cousr my regulator couldn't die while the window was on it's way up...OH NO! it had to die will the window was down. It's been cold in Ohio this week. And to boot my passanger window motor burnt too, about 3 weeks ago. at least that motor died with the window up. I just got both of them fixed this week. My husband and I have owned 6 Pontiac; 93 Grand Am, 96Grand Am, 97 GP GTP, 02 Grand Am and 2-02 Bonnevilles. OUt of those cars ONLY the 96 Grand AM and GTP were the only ones that have not had one or more window motors burn up...and the 2002, I don't think I owned that one long enough, only 20 months. Kind of irritating :x

Flipper,

Is your car still in warranty? If so the it should be covered. If it wasn't your dealer screwed you.

This seems to be a common problem:

The rear passanger window motor was replaced before we purchased the car as part of the "mechanical inspection". I lit the managers ass on fire when they said we had to pay to replace it again 3 months later. They ended up covering the rear window but the front passanger was replaced under warranty. Unfortunately we have a 100.00 deductable on that that car so it only cost a little less than if I had done it myself.
