I hope I'm not annoying anybody, I just want to keep that supercharger darn it. I found a good leed on two 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 supercharged motors. I am wondering how difficult the swap would be and if it is possible. You can go into as much detail as possible. I would also like to personally thank Dathurs for all of your assistance. I appreciate it very much, hope I'm not annoying man.

what year is this going in? you may need to exchange mounts from your engine to the new one. pull the old engine and put the new one next to it. then move or change what ever is different. when done put the new engine in the car. that should be all thats needed.

im on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.lol im trying to put a 2000 bonneville l36 engine into a 1998 pontiac grand prix gt non */c. i was told the alternator bracket and motor mounts are different which they do apppear to be, the motor mounts deff are, thats clear. if you find out any more information on this please let me know.i mostly part cars and do small jobs, fwd installation is not my thing, neither is removal (which i found out after pulling the bonneville motor.lol. wow pita) so anything i know first hand would be very helpful.

The oil pan may be different as well. Also check the flex plate close, there are 2 different bolt patterns on the torque converters.

it is going into a 2000 Bonneville SSEi. I was told that the wiring will be different. I dont know exactly what that means. I was told the only drop in motors were 2000-2003 bonnevilles and 2000-2004 Park avenues

The block and heads should be the same. This is why I said check mounts, oil pan, oil filter bracket, sensors, etc. move over what ever needs to be moved. Then you can drop in the new motor.

There are a number of different PCM connector pin usages.

Right 96/97 and 98-02.

I would like to know, if possible, exactly what I will have to do and what all will need to be changed to transplant a 1998 Grand Prix 3.8s/c into a 2000 Bonneville SSEi. I know the motor mounts, oil pan and a few other mechanical things. What is making me the most nervous is the wiring issues. The best deal I have found is a 1998 Grand Prix */c with only 58,000 miles for 500.00 no core charge, i just need to know if I can make it work. I'm pretty good mechanically and electronically, but no whiz. thanks again to anyone who can help
