Another question guys, from the old man here in Utah! I got under my 2000 SSEI(just got it last week) and pullled that plastic front under cover piece and was looking for a radiator tank drain. Cant find one. Sorry but I am old, weak and blind. Is there one? Kind of hard to see under there. I got this car and she is in nice shape but the coolant has to be changed bad!
Thanks all!
Thanks all!
Know how you are feeling. Take a look into the spoiler/air dam from the front of the car on the driverside. If I recall correctly they tossed the 2000 one up there. It'* the one place none of us would ever look.
DMZ, I have a 95 so it could be different but like you I was looking for the old style petcock and it wasn't there. In the same location is a newer style petcock that is almost flush against the radiator. If you put the car on ramps it is much easier to see from below. The outlet is now on the bottom unlike before when it came out of the side of the radiator. Hope this helps.

Bill is probably right. I kind of jumped on that in a knee jerk fashion. Long story short. Couldn't find my petcock and ended up having to flush the parking lot. Found the petcock the next day.
Sad part is I basically know I should be....because of a buddy with an 00 that I helped find it and so far everyone else that has asked has found it there, but some of the variations in the years and manufacturing should keep us from being definitive until we've verified it on about 30 cars.

I got it on ramps Sunday and pulled down that black plastic chin panel behind the front facia. I used a flashlight and reached and groped and this and that and I got to believe there is one. Even tried to look at pictures like on Rock Auto, etc. For all the mess and hassle, I might just let someone do it. With that frame right under the radiator(which is nice!) I cant see it at all. I tried feeling for it and finally gave up.
Guys, all is appreciated as always!! I got a good buy on the car(I think) and I really do like it. The drivers seat with my bad back is wonderful! Thanks all!!

I found this on Wiki answers:
"On my 2000 it'* on the bottom drivers side of the radiator, you have to remove the spalsh guard to see it. On the radiator end cap you'll see 2 tabs hanging striaght down with a split in the middle. I used an extra large flat blade screwdriver between the tabs to unscrew the plug. The position of the wires and location of the plug make it difficult to drain into a pan, without making a mess. A small funnel with about a 6 inch hose will help."

Hmm, interesting. Maybe I'm thinking of a different car, but I thought mine was right in plain sight on the back side. But I ended up just removing the lower hose because I was afraid the plastic plug might break, which I remember hearing as an issue before.
