Question about Traction Control, and Question about Jet Chip
 

One thing I hope someone can help me with. Is there a way to completely disable the Traction Control like on the GTP's where you can just pull the fuse. Turning it off supposedly just delays when it kicks in from what I have read on ClubGP. Because of the many stages of the TCS, I think it would be difficult to do a burnout to warm up slicks in a SSEi if the Traction Control works like I was told it was. (With stages where it pulls timing, uses the brakes, etc...) And, what do most people on here do for track prep besides removing the spare tire and jack and having little gas in the gas tank?

Also, what does a Jet Chip do? The stock computers in SSEi's suck, and it would be nice to get an aftermarket, but I would like to know what it does first.

Well.. I never had problem with TC coming back on or engagement lag when I hit the lil TC off switch.. I can do donuts burnouts DRIFT and all the things that I may not be able to .. or at least not hearing the horrid whirr.. tranny sounding grind of the TC at work. I don't know if they changed the system on 00' up..

The TCS does not turn itself back on, the light doesn't come back on or anything. It just does the same stuff only more discretly. I don't know if it was the case in earlier years, but in the 2000+ SSEi's the TCS will pull timing no matter if the TCS is on or off. If you hook up a scan tool and spin the tires with the TCS on it will immediately pull timing. If you turn off the TCS and spin the tires, it will pull timing after a second or two. It will do the same thing in a GTP, only if you pull the TCS fuse, it will not. Pretty much, I want to know if anyone knows of any way to disable it. And, I have read that the TCS will keep pulling timing until the engine is barely running if you keep spinning the tires. So, what I want to know is, if someone were to try to do a 20 second burnout to heat up their slicks in an SSEi, would they be able to, and if so, will if effect how the car runs the 1/4 mile immediately after that? Anyone who has significant knowledge of the TCS systems on the SSEi's would be of great help right about now. Thank You.

humm.. I can't help you with that as I don't know how the GTP boys do it.. if you have the owners manual ( or unless someone on here has a service manual for a 00+ bonnie ) can find the location of the fuse that controls the TCS.. a simple jumper and switch should suffice .. flick the switch.. and no power will go to the TCS at the fuse.. flick back to re-arm thing? humm... I don't know... speakin of which.. why not check on Ebay for the service manual CD for your 00+ model? I got one for Muffin's 95 and true it may not be as easy to find things on their as possibly a book.. but sure helps out.. print the pages you need.. and who cares if you get that page dirty then. And it's cheaper then the actual service manual. Good luck
