Programming new key fob on '01 Bonneville?

A friend of mine just got a 01 Bonneville and the dealer gave him a new keyfob that is un programmed. I was wondering how you go about programming it. I did a search and found out how on a '95 but wasn't sure if it was the same on a '01.

Thanks in advance! :D

The dealer should be able to do that for you. Takes about 2 minutes. You should have a keyfob with a number "1" on the back, and one with a number "2" on the back. If you've got two of either, programming one will cancel the other out.

I got one remote with a "2" on the back when I bought the car.
Is there anyplace besides the dealer I can get a second one?
Thanks

They can get anything at 15% over cost.

Dealer wanted $50.
Thanks iRocco
