Gas Pedal
On my 01 SSEI, I noticed that the gas pedal seems very stiff to push on, compared to my Aurora and wifes Mustang. It'* almost like there is resistance when pushing. Could the throttle cable need adjusted, or would a thorough throttle body cleaning be in order?

GM went with a stiffer gas pedal on the 2000+ cars. If it makes you feel better, the 2001+ Aurora'* gas pedal is even stiffer than the Bonne'*. 
As long as it'* not sticking, it'* most likely completely normal. They made it stiffer for increased pedal sensitivity under light throttle.

I figured it would be so you can double check the thought that you're about to go full throttle and blast into hyper space lol

if you guys want to make your gas pedal stiff like on the bonneville, block off the spring that is on the gas pedal. The spring absorbs quick movement of the gas pedal giving the pedal a "spongy" feel to it, and it prevents quick throttle changes. You can do this by using something to permanently compress the spring on the throttle right by the gas pedal.

the spring is on the pedal itself?

THere will either be a solid rubber block, or a spring in that location. As far as I know, the 2000+ cars have the rubber block setup, and the pre 2000 cars have a spring located there for a softer pedal. On my 97 Riviera, I perminently compressed the spring making the throttle feel MUCH better and responsive. I used a metal strap wrapped around the spring between the end of the throttle cable, and the fork on the gas pedal. this made it so the spring was bypassed.

wow, yeah i was wondering why that was, i was driving my friend'* 00 Century and i was like woah, because everytime i pressed it, i pressed it too hard and the car lurched...lol finally got the hang of it, but i was like WTF, my pedal is like soft and this one feels like im pressing against a full size coil...
