Default 2000 SSEi motor swap

I have a 2000 Bonneville SSEi that i was working on replacing the engine in with a low mileage used engine. What year did they switch from Series ll engines to Series lll. Or will a Series lll fit? Will a Series ll naturally aspirated long block fit either? Thanks

An L32 block will fit in a 2k+, just need to keep your throttle body. Series 3 is drive by wire.

and all the mounts from the s2, plus the S2 Oil pan and Oil Filter adapter.

They are all different S2 to S3
