2 problems!

something happened when i had it apart.. notice the display screen.. there isnt full light across is anymore, also i lost my volume and tune rotary buttons light... thinking this has something to do with the wires on the faceplate being incorrect...

also, i only replaced the 3 white bulbs, not any of the orange LED'* that light the numbers... radio shack did not have them, and i am going to order online... so you see in the last pic that the bottom row works fine, but some of the numbers are not lit.

i also replaced the red theftlock LED with a blue one

when i get the orange LED'* in... i will take it apart again and see why the display is not right

You are right in saying that there are no screws in the dash. There are, however, two push pins that should be removed... they are above the instrument cluster.

My display screen no longer lights up fully either, it has the same dim spot in the middle as yours is showing. The dealer I got my car from said that they replaced the screen before I bought the car, and it only worked for about 3 months. I don't know how you would fix someting like that and it does'nt bother me enough to pay someone to fix it for me.

A display like that may suffer from cold solder joints being heated and cooled so much. The slight flexing of the pcb (board the lights are on) could have made the jont suffer worse and it merely needs to have the connections touched with a solder iron to reflow the solder.
