During a very wet cool week, I started seeing a flaky pink chalky substance all over the interior. I had to use the defroster quite a bit and it seemed to work fine. It seems pink substance came from the defroster vent. Now to make matters worse, a mouse or something else managed to get somewhere in or around the dash and die. The pink stuff flying around has stopped but still has me concerned. But the stinking dead animal is my top priority now and I am going to attempt to pull the fan motor first, hoping for access to the duct work. I am crossing my fingers that a good shop vac will suck the critter out and I can drive my car again. Does that sound like a good place to start? Anyone else have an idea where critters go to die in a Bonneville? Also, any idea what can cause the pink chalky stuff? Heater core by chance?
