Wiper switch/post/bar assembly.
So, Gunner sold me this out of his car when he gutted it. Now I need to actually get around to replacing mine. Getting a little tired of looking at the masking tape holding the button my current one for the washer fluid.
Anybody got instructions on how to do this? I'd hate to mess something up since I know I'm gonna have to disconnect the battery to keep from hitting myself in the face with the air bag.

theres this; for the pre 2000 but ive never done one so i have no idea. i would think the procedure for disabling the airbag would be the same at least.

Jesus that'* a lot of work just to replace that damn thing. If it'* the same for the 2000+ I'll just leave the old broken one in there with it'* effed up button.

On my 2001, there 4 connections that disable the airbags; one under each seat, one under the dash on the driver side, and one under the dash on the passenger side. The ones under the dash are visible when you remove the hush panels. You can recognize the connections, because they have orange "keepers" on them. What I mean by "keeper" is a plastic tab that inserts into the connector that you have to remove before you can pull the connector apart. For example, connectors for O2 sensors have blue keepers.
Disconnect the battery to remove all residual power, then disconnect the electrical connection for the steering wheel airbag, which is the connector with the orange keeper under the dash on the driver'* side.

Is it required to do all that junk to pull the wheel off to replace this thing, or can I just disable the bag, pull a panel, pull the stalk out and replace?
I'm thinking that this should only take about 30 minutes once the airbag is cut off.

Sorry Nick but I can't help on that one. I have never changed one. The only reason I know how to disable the air bags is from working on the seats.
