Default Harsh Shifting

I had a very harsh shift problem that started after a "check engine" light appeared. It was bad too, banging into all the gears. The CE light was intermittent but the harsh shift was not. Had some other symptoms too like uneven idle and hesitation issues. The CE light turned out to be a MAF sensor code, 102 I believe. I replaced the MAF sensor and the CE light went away along with the driveability problems. Shifting returned to normal also. Has anyone else experienced this? The car has been running and shifting great ever since.

This is pretty normal. The PCM will put the car into limp mode for various reasons.
