I will get the car towed to the dealer tomorow morning, then i will be fix on the exact problem.

5 days now without driving my bonne... too long
without driving at all, i will have a pontiac Sunfire tomorow  ...... from the dealer.

They take the engine out today, the warranty looked at the engine and they will pay for the repair,
in fact, the dealer will install a used engine, the only thing that will remain from my old engine will be the supercharger,

they will get the engine tomorow so next monday i should get my car back!!! :P

And it will only cost me the supercharger gasket and liquids...coolant, oil...
So im not gonna mod it soon, only rocker and ported manifold this spring + PCM.

There was one bearing with lot of wear, the others one looked fine.

:flashbounce:

great news, i bet you are VERY happy that it is getting taken care of properly

Rogue 03-08-2006 04:52 PM

Be sure they change the oil pump if that was the cause of it all :)

Great news!

I have my car back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally

cost me 330$ :D

Mileage goes from 16 Liter/100km to 10 liter/100 km !!!

But, my tank was at 1/4 since my engine broke, 3 week and a half with -15 to 8 * celcius.

Today, starting from the dealer i noticed the rpm was boucing a the stop light, right when the car stop, i was like " may be the PCM is adjusting"

So i returned to work, later afetr work, i started the car to show my new engine to a friend , and after 15 secondee it begun to bounce again, and finaly the engine stopped.

I was like " Huh??!?" and my friend was laughing at me...

So i decided to go home but the car started to lost power after only 100m and die.

3 time, so i let my car at the shop, im thinking thats may be water in the fuel tank,
what do you guys think?

Im going right now to put some gaz in the tank, the highest octane possible, 94-95 i think.

Other than that it seem fine. Run great.

And i have my 3.4 with stock air box (because of my warranty)
and its very humid outside.

:nonono:

What does your volt gauge read?

May also be a vacuum leak.

mike_peperni 03-13-2006 10:15 PM

Im bringing the car back to dealer tomorow ( they will have to tow it)

I will call them tomorow morning,im sure its nothing (thx warranty) but its still frustrating, ive been waiting 3 weeks and i have to get it back after 3 hours... :x

back with news tomorow.

Thx Rogue

Back from the dealer, turned out to be the O2 sensor

Car run fine now, but i he said my other O2 sensor behind the cat is bad too, he said its because of my highflow cat... wich i cant believe, and he said my engine broke down because of that , and that my new engine can brake because of that too, he suggest me to change back to original...

He suggest me to begin with the cat, i suggest him to just replace my front O2 sensor, its fine now. But he put doub t in my mine,.... I tought the rear O2 sensor wasnt sending info for the air/fuel mix?? only the front, he said the 2 had conflict or something like that

Can a highflow cat cause spun bearing failure??? i tought we could run "open exhaust " if wanted..

Anyway, had also a purge valve code in the tank, 30$ part wich will be replace soon.

Mileage increased 8.5liter/100km like 27 mile/gallon 2 time better than my old engine.

He said to me to hurry because my O2 will fail soon due to my Cat.. true?? :?

Rogue 03-14-2006 05:43 PM

Your rear 02 does not affect fuelng in any way. It's only job is to see if the cat is doing its job or not. More than likely your hi-flo cat is not efficient enough for the 02 to read it as performing its job correctly. You can either install an 02 simulator in place of the rear 02 sensor or have the code removed from your PCM.

In either case a hi-flo cat will NOT cause a bearing to spin. More than likely they damaged the 02 sensor putting your new engine back in (wires on manifolds, or damaged the 02 physically).

mike_peperni 03-14-2006 06:01 PM

Thats what i was hoping , i think i will order my O2 simulator now. :D

Thank you very much Rogue ;)
