Jinkling Noise (FIXED!) drivers side front wheel....
Hi!
I Just noticed a strange noise...only happens when I turn the to the right, coming from the front driver'* side wheel. It'* a metal, clangy, jingling noise. It speeds up and slows accordingly with acceleration/deceleration. Makes me think that something is hitting my rims.
I looked to see if the calipers were scratched...didn't notice anything. Calipers are freshly painted; therefore any scratches should be visible. Wheels haven't been taken off since at NEBF (6 weeks ago). I inspected caliper - to - wheel position on both sides; the space is currently the same between caliper and rims.
Could my tire be loose? And if so, does it make sense it would make the sound only when turning to the right and NOT when turning to the left? No noise is made when the brakes are depressed - which makes sense since they move in to the rotor.
I will have to take it to a garage, or have the boys take it off...but wanted your thoughts and ideas before going to someone.

definitely metallic sounding... light clinking with a high pitch to it...therefore sort of a jingle and a clink...errr....maybe jinkling? I don't have a video phone so I can't get a movie of it in action...

Tracy, I don't think it'* a loose wheel. I'm thinking more along the lines of possibly a CV joint failing. Can the boys jack it up and remove the front driver side wheel for closer inspection.

I know what the howl of a bearing sounds like...definitely not that. Yes, I could have the boys come over this weekend and take off the wheel, but unfortunately, I know more about cars than they do, which isn't a whole lot...so unless we know to what to look for...

My first thought was end links, until I rad that it changed with the speed. Besides what has been listed, you may want to check the wheel bearing for looseness while you have it jacked up. Had one a while back where the bearing wasn't making noise yet, but was just loose enough to cause the rotor to rub against the pads on a turn. My description of that would be more like a squeak, though.
