? Shifter Part Broke ? 2005 Bonniville
I own a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville SE that has the center console for shifting.
Like always, I went to press in the little button to shift from Park to Drive and the button popped out and I couldn't shift.
There is some sort of mechanism that moves a part in the shifter, that'* the only way to change gears.
Luckily it happened to me in my driveway so I could figure out a solution to at least get the car to change gears.
I popped that piece that fell out and put it back in the shifter, then it works but I have to continuously hold the part on the shifter, otherwise it falls out right away.
The other thing I can sometimes do is stick my hand in the shifter where the part fell out and press some buttons to get the shifter to change gears again.
Anyways, I'm confused. I don't feel like taking this to the shop to pay someone an over priced repair that I can probably figure out if someone gives me some much needed advice.
Thank You.
