i couldnt get to it. i finally got the hose back on, that tool helped somewhat. does anybody know what size torx bit is on the supercharger belt tensioner? i dont have one that big.

found it T-FITTY. A damn rubber tee on that small vacuum line that is connected to the supercharger, under the snout, fell apart when i was pulling it off. :x any tips on pulling out the fuel rail? ive got all 4 nuts off(and top bolt) off, is it just a matter of wiggling the injectors/rail to unseat the o-rings?

Just keep wiggling the fuel rail, pulling a little on each side...right rear, right front, left rear, left front, until it pops out.

That "T" under the supercharger has been known to do exactly what happened to you. It dries out and gets brittle. I bought some from Ed Morad, or you could check a junk yard. As I understand it, you can't just buy the "T" from the dealer. You have to buy the entire hose. Another option is to make one with a plastic "T" insert and put short pieces of vacuum hoses over each end. You can get those at just about any auto parts store.

T-50 fits well on the tensioner. (Some use a T47.)

Sorry to interupt, but I'm scared for my car now. I lose coolant from my res and a little oil between oil changes. 83k on an 01 ssei. If the "manifold gaskets"were replaced before I got it, then they were LIM, correct? no UIM on my 3800 supercharged? Any input would be greatly appreciated, when you have the chance.

Sorry again to interupt - please continue!

I too use a little oil in my 01 SSEi with 88K, maybe 1/2 qt. in 5,000 miles. Do you use more?

I too lose a little anti-freeze to the engine. My reservoire drops maybe 1/4" in 1-2 months. Oil, rockers and dipstick are clean as can be so I think my loss is so small that I evaporate it off within a few miles. I smell no odor externally, even at the exhaust (don't keep your nose stuffed in the exhaust pipe too long. :x ). I check the reservoir about every 2 days. This winter I only had to install about a half cup of antifreeze to replentish to the cold mark.

I use to use 1/2-1" coolant per month until I inserted Prestone Stop Leak (the aluminum silver flake stuff) and got the "red-death" antifreeze flushed out. That pretty much has brought the usage to practically nill for the past 2 years. I'm just going to continue checking every other day until I see it getting worse. Has not yet though.

Give us more details about your concern.
