Default Foggy Headlight Lenses

Does anybody know if the headlight lenses can be refinished? Mine are no longer clear. They haven't really yellowed the surface seems to be foggy. Are there any products available that can restore the surface and provide UV protection from the sun?

Absolutely! Without trying to sound like an infomercial, you can do it yourself, for about $20 and an hour of your time.

What you need is this kit:

Which can be picked up at Wal-Mart in the automotive lighting section for about $20.

Follow the instructions, only sand with the supplied grits for longer than they say. I took my headlights off and just wet sanded while I watched TV.

After sanding with both grits, use the polish (CV #1) thoroughly, buff, rinse with water and buff again, and then use two coats of the sealant (CV #2). Don't worry if your headlights don't look completely clear after the polish, the sealant removes all remaining haze AS LONG as you sanded and polished thoroughly!

Here'* how mine turned out, they were severely hazed over:

Those spots on the bottom right are just beads of water.

I tried that stuff for the headlights on my Camaro. Didn't work so good, and I followed the instructions to the letter. What did I do wrong?

I use Meguiars Plasti-X with pretty decent turn out. Not as good as LeSabreUltra'* though but easier to apply.

Where can I get just the sealant? I've got the sandpaper and polishing compounds to get a nice clear lens. But the only product I've seen so far that keeps them clean is wax, but that only works for about a year before they need polishing again. The factory sealant held a clear lens for years.
