I have a 2000 SSEi with a terrible water leak. The whole interior is stripped. I have traced the leak coming into the frame by the emergency brake pedal and leaking out of a hole. I have checked the moonroof drain hose, and that'* fine. It doesn't come in immediately. The water accumulates and then when it reaches the hole it comes into the car. I'm to the point of considering drilling a drain hole.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to the club, Tony. It sounds as your problem is similar to what JDQ, one of our members, experienced earlier. He found that where the drain tubes from the sunroof come together near the dash, after it exits the a-pillar came apart. I believe that his was on the passenger side, however. If I recall correctly, rather than trying to reach where the two tubes met, and repair it - he ran another tube up and connected it where he could reach.

Yes my leak came from brake pedal area and was the sunroof drain hose.If you pull off A pillar, drain tube runs down thru dash by bottom of window and joins another tubethat leads out to wheel well.Mine disconnected there and leaked down drivers side under carpet and ran down to rear and soaked front and rear drivers side carpet, mostly rear.I pulled the carpet out to verify which is the best way to tell .( that way you can clean and dry).If this is ur problem I fished anther hose thru the top and using flashlight and needlenose pliers pulled it out the wheel well drain hole and reattached.No other real options good luck.Hopefully u get lucky and its not disconnected.

I actually got to where the two hoses connect, and they are connected. By shining a light up in the frame piece it looks as if the water is coming from the top. What i'll do next is check the drain hose to make sure it is all together and not damaged.

When I was tracing a water leak, I remember pouring water in the moonroof drains using a liquid measuring cup (or anything with a pour spout) to test where it goes. When the moonroof is open, there'* a tray around the whole perimeter of it that slopes toward each corner/drain. I think somebody said there are 4 drains, 2 in the back and 2 in the front so it depends which way the car is sloped which way it would go. If it all comes out on the ground near the wheels you'll know the drains are ok.

Just wanted to mention something (sooner rather than later!), also search this message board and read about the water deflectors. I was fooled for a while with a water problem, the water appeared to be coming in at certain seams of the frame but I found out that was just water sloshing around which had actually came in at the door water deflectors. It can accumulate under the seats and then when you jack your car up or park on a slope it will run out of different places into your front floorboard area. Just a possibility for you to keep in mind, these are a known big problem.
