Default Supporting engine for trans swap

Hey guys I am getting ready to drop the crap factory trans and am wondering if I can use 4x4 wood or something instead of have to weld up a fixture?? Any posts around on that?

Thanks!

Just follow the write up. I've already had a trans out and on the floor in about 2 hours.

Also, be VERY careful when lowering it. A helper is a good idea. The trans likes to twist and turn and then fall off the jack. And you don't want that on top of you.

Does the sub frame split on a 2000? Should I replace all the bushing, retainers and bolts too?
