clear tail-lights?
Has anyone attempted, or does anyone have any ideas on how to pull this off? I want to continue with the "clear" motif, but the one BIG obstacle is that big red piece on the trunk between the two tailights....any suggestions/thoughts/comments/encouraging words?

I thought about this too when I was Zanio'ing my car this last week. Might be able to take off the whole rear piece. Kinda lookied at, looks like it could be tough. Just be carefull and good luck. If you get it to work, I'll have to do it to. I pictured it already and looking sweet.
I also went to PEPBOYS yesterday and they make silver coated amber bulbs,in 1157. I bought a set for the front corners and it looks much better without an orange bulb reflecting around. $3 bucks. Cheepier than a can of spray paint, and Don't have to worry about it "mucking Up" the housing like other have said with their own spray paint testing.
Good luck buddy.

well, guess what I am going to pickup at pepboyz tomorrow!
It will probably be a couple of weeks before I can clear the tail-lights, but I am going to try to do it and of course I will post my results afterwards.

Well good luck! I wsa looking at the tail lights yesterday and I think it can probably be done easly to lights on the ends. The little bit of yellow in the middle reflector, that might not come off so easly. The corner lights kinda look like they will pop out as easlily as the headlights, so clearing them should be about the same.
Is it worth it though if yu can't get teh middle piece out and cleared though?

yeah, I figured the actual light assemblies would be as easy as the headlights, so I was going to start with that center piece. I am going to go on a limb and assume that that red is coming from a piece of plastic that can be removed, if I get in there and it is "painted" forget about it!
I may actually try sometime this week.

If its painted just sand it down & then get some polish for plexi glasss, & polish it. Itll look like new after your done. I think the kit start off at 300/400 grit and goes up to 12000 grit. Saw it when a guy was restoring the plexi top on a older vetter. I think he said the kit was around 40 bucks.

-Couple Zanio pics, taking more next week when more new stuff comes in.
-Me at the track, w/ zaino on

Next roll of pics,
-Lots of Zanio shots
-New grill- waiting for delivery
-3rd brake light PONTIAC inlay when step on brake
-Maybe my first LSD burnout
