Default Possibley losing coolant pressure?

I went and rented the coolant pressure tester today and here are the results.

Put to 15 PSI, it slowly dropped over a period of 2 minutes to under 14, and when left for about 3-4 more minutes continued down to 13 and didn't look like it was done falling yet.

Released pressure, tightened the tester back on, and started the engine. Over a period of 12-13 minutes it raised to about 8 PSI. Once it got up to 6 PSI, it seemed like it was gaining 1 PSI, then dropping it, then gaining it and a little more, then dropping 1PSI. The gains were slow, and the drops were over a period of like 5-10 seconds. I quit after 13 minutes,it may have gone higher if I had waited.

Sounds like you have a very slow leak. Get it up to pressure with the engine off and see if you can hear anything gurgling.

I just went out and gave it a listen. Took it up to 16 PSI. I listened next to the cap to make sure the tester wasn't leaking, listened next to the radiator, the coolant hose. Stuck my head everywhere I could fit it and still didn't hear anything. During this it dropped down to under 15 PSI.

If you can't see or hear anything, then you may want to pull the LIM when you do the other work. The LIM was torqued to the proper amount, but you never know, something might have been buggered up.

Alright, I think it was going to have to come off anyways if we fix the coolant turn around. It can't be anything to major because I'm not noticeably losing coolant.

If I had to guess, I would say you have a very slow seep on the LIM gasket. You should be able to see this when you lift the LIM. Hope you were paying attention when we pulled it last time.

I remember the majority of it, I think I spent most of my time messing with those stupid plastic inserts though. I'm a pro with those now by the way :P. I believe Trent will be helping me out again as well.

It'* really not hard at all. Pull the fuel lines, then rails, throttle body, supercharger, IC core, and finally the LIM. Remember to use a shop vac to suck some coolant out before you pull the LIM. Wipe up any coolant that goes in to the valley, then pour a little oil around the valley to wash out any coolant you may have missed. Torque from the center out and go back and forth, then check torque again until none of the bolts move anymore.
