Default increasing mpg and a little performance

ok im getting 18 mpgs from my 2000 ssei with 44k, i have always seen these cars get around 25 average, im all stock so im wondering what would be the best mod to get better perfprmance and a little better mpg,

im taking it in soon for the upgrade on the valve body because of the surge in the convertor, that i know will help,

if you dont know what i mean they have a problem with the torque convertor staying engaged around 50mph, kicks in and out and kills mpg, they replace it with a updated valve in the body and cures that

any help would be appreciated

I'm curious who told you about the valve body causing the problem? Lots of people here have had the problem and the most common solution from what I can tell is to replace the torque converter.

The best mod I can think of to give you a good balance of what you are looking for is:

1. Go easier on the pedal when you can.
2. Mash her when you must, but resist the urge until you can't stand it anymore.
3. When you plan even a short trip, take the shortest route that is all downhill. When you leave for home, find a similar downhill route.

ok, to answer your question about what mod can give you both performance and better mpg..

not so many mod some tell that Cold air intake,FWI help but once you will ear the gear whine it will be hard for you to "dont mash" the pedal.

just keep the car in good shape is a good way to save mpg.

Just got back from a trip to Clevelend from Buffalo, and the official mileage for the trip there and back was 28.5 MPG cruisin I-90 at 70-75 (no tickets!). At $3.00/gallon US every bit helps!!! Overall with city drving my car gets 21-22 mpg. My car has 46,000 miles on it at the moment.

I generally never get more than 18 MPG if I'm Lucky, but most of the time I get about 14 to 14.5 this is normal. But California is pretty hilly state. Plus my foot gets really tired so I have to rest it on the gas pedal.

When the car is in or if you can get it on a scanner, check the O2 for proper operation. Meaning watch it go lean and rich quickly.

most of the driving is highway 60mph , and i thought if the o2'* were too slow they would throw the check engine light on because they were out of range?
