Extended Warranty....Is it worth it?
When I bought my Bonnie, they said I have until 50,000 miles to buy an extended warranty to last until 100,000 miles. However, the price is a little steep. $1600.....So what I want to know is, is it worth it? I'm at 47,000 right now, so I need to be making up my mind pretty soon. As of right now, everything runs fine, and I do intend on doing a few engine mods and lots of interior mods. Does anyone know what does/doesn't void those types of warranties, and am I doing to destroy $1600 worth of equipment before 100,000 miles?

Thats a tough call. $1600 is a lot to consider.
Some of the more costly repairs are transmission and front end (steering).
Interior mods wont hurt your warranty, neither should intake or exhaust work.

I bought one (abou the same price, same coverage, $50 deducable.) I've used it three times already. Including for the steering groan...
All it takes is one transmission and it pays for itself...

or two wheel hubs at 500 a crack
i know it seems like a lot up front but usually you can roll it into the loan. Its a lot like insurance, it sucks to pay it but when you need it you will be glad you did.

Don't Waste!
I've had 4 pontiacs now since 99 and I only had work done past initial warranty once. Maybe I was lucky since I've had a car for a little over three years at one time, but you could take that $1600 bucks or whatever and invest it into mutual funds. This way if you don't need warranty type work done until 2 to 5 years from now, hey! you'd have earned good interest on it. $1600 bucks is a lot of dough! You would need some major damage to occur to amount up to that. If you are taking care of your car you should be fine. Bonnevilles are good autos. Auto insurance/warranties are some of the biggest frauds. Initial factory warranty is as far as I'll go.
