Part number for shift handle (05 GXP)
pontiacGXP posted this pic of the interior of his ride and I immediately fell in love with the accent peice on the shifter handle. Any know the part number for this and if it will swap out with my '02'*? I looked on gmpartsdirect but had no luck, they dont have '05'* listed yet. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You don't want it. It'* aluminum, and scratches easily. Both GXP'* I've seen at local dealers are all scratched up. I personally prefer the shifter you have in your car, and have it in both my 93 and my 95 now.
But in case you DO want the easy to scratch little sucker (looking to see where the HELL I put my parts list for 04/05........) found it tucked into another section. :?
Sorry, for some stupid reason, my 2000-2005 listing has MOST of the GXP specific parts, but not that one.
Point of interest, the Leather handle in an SSEi from 2000-2003 is about $100. The vinyl in the SE and most SLE'*? About $20.

Thanks for the heads up. I dont like it well enough to shell out ~100 bucks for it, lol, especially if it'* gonna get all scratched up. Oh well, more money for performance mods or wheels/tires I guess.

How do you know if you got the leather or vinyl one? I've always assumed mine was leather because of its similarity with the steering wheel cover...

I have an SSEi, and just from the look/texture of the shifter compared to the leather steering wheel, mine is definately different and I wouldnt think it'* the leather one. I guess it'* possible it'* been replaced over the past 4 years though, or did they make some SSEi'* with the cheaper one?
