Default PAC SWI-X

Anyone have any luck installing a PAC SWI-X in a 2000+ bonneville i have seen some people do it with older models and was just wondering if anyone has done it with the newer bonneville.

Yeah I got it, worked on my old alpine, now my newer alpine has the volume **** blocking the IR sensor. Don't put it on the steering colum like me.

I'd recomend putting in on the trim for the sunroof , or by the dome lights, my buddy has it there in his GTP and works great and nobody ever sees it, how often do you look up in a car, usually just a glance and that'* it. If you put it in the middle console something could be blocking it a times and possibility of beeing noticed or damaged.

I have a PAC-SWIX but I cannot figure out for the life of me where to tap into the steering wheel controls. I look under my steering column but there are so many wires and I don't want to tap into wires if they're the wrong ones. taylor, can you let us know which wire is for the steering wheel controls and where you tapped into them at? On most GM cars it'* either a dark green, or light green wire.

Guys...tap in right at the stereo connector. That'* how I did it on the 95 and it was a piece of cake...when you get the connector to put in your aftermarket..it'* one of about 3 wires not used.

Like others mentioned...green in nature.

As for mounting locations...mod it...custom work time. You've seen what I did with mine right?

P.*. the aftermarket wiring harnesses have no free wires on them. You use all 12 or so wires for a typical installation. You only use 12 out of the 32 pins possible.

Okey dokey...with that ribbon...if you can ID which trace it is..you gently rub off the coating and with a low wattage soldering iron you tack a small wire to it...hook other end to PAC.

I understand if most are not comfortable with that, I have been around electronics enough to have done it a few times.
