Question Sunroof leaking - Please Help Us!!

Hi, My Husband and I have a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. My sunroof leaks and my trunk is full of water, we just got alot of rain here in the past few days. The weather strip is old and cracked in a few places so I know that is 1 of my problems and the plugs have to be checked. I am really tired of cleaning it out everytime it rains and I am so discouraged because I was just told by the GM dealer that I have to buy the whole sunroof glass just to have a new weatherstrip... Sunroof glass cost $200 - $350... I cant belive that!!
So I did some research and seen some blogs (Thank God for all you awesome bloggers) that said I could go to Home Depot and buy the weather strip, my 3 questions are:
What size, type?
What king of glue would work good for Iowa weather?
And do you need to take the headliner off to get the sunroof out??
Also any other advice you may have for us that would help us out on this weekend project would be so greatly appreciated~
Thanks, Dave & Izabel
