MAF Cleaning Tips
 

Good morning--

I've displeased with my mileage lately after reading of folks hitting the 20's in town and have read some posts on MAF sensor cleaning. Can somebody point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this? Didn't really find what I was looking for when I searched. I was thinking of replacing plugs and wires but it appears that is not helping a majority of folks with their mileage.

306.4 miles
17.016 gallons
=18.0065 mpg.

All but 55 miles were in town. Rarely use A/C. Not a lead-foot driver at all with today's prices. I've heard high 20's are possible on the highway with these cars but I've never seen that with mine. 24 tops.

You can get a maf cleaner at the parts store. Then remove the airbox accordian and spray liberally while holding the throttle all the way open. (engine off).

You could also pull the maf out of the throttle body and clean it. Some use a q tip and rubbing alcohol, although whenever possible not touching the little wire is best.
