Question 2000 Bonneville SE Rear Lateral Links

Hey guys, just talked to Dan Thurs about this. My rear lateral link seperated at the ball joint. I need to go about 1,000 miles tonight, so I'm going to have to wire it down for now. I want to know if someone here has replaced theirs or not. I was wondering if the whole rear sub frame has to be taken off or not. Where the eccentric bolt is the head of it faces the gas tank and I'm unsure if I have to lower the rear steel frame to get that bolt out or if someone has done it without lowering the frame. Some quick help here would be great.

Thanks much
Craig

Oh and I did read the write up on this from Dan, and its a great help on torque specs, but the tie rod is welded to lateral link bar, so just can't replace the ball joint as its all one piece.:(
