Hard start/stalling issue
So right before I deployed to Iraq my car started having some troubles. I was driving back to my house when my car started stuttering, then outright stalled. It wouldn't restart for more than a few seconds. After sitting for about 30-45 minutes the car restarted, but didn't run right at all. I mananaged to limp the car home, it even stalled a couple times while driving home. After being in Iraq I sent some info to my wife to check the fuel filter. She never got around to that because the car wouldn't start at all, and threw a CES code. Had the car towed to the mechanic. They found that my MAF was bad. It was replaced to the tune of $360, $180 of that was a brand new MAF from O' Reilly.
The reason we thought it was the fuel filter was because the car never put out a code when it started acting funny, I guess it hadn't just thrown out the code yet. Good news is though my car runs now!

They're cheaper than the dealer. My mechanic is about $50 an hour while the dealer is double that. The thing I did forget to do was call the dealer though to see if my car would have been covered under the 8yr/80k warranty for emissions systems.
