Thats exactly what my mechanic said... Could the started be bad in a broken-egg effect when my wife turned it over causing a ground to go bad? This could be the problem... I love the car, but hate the electrical stuff... (clicking my shoes together) "I wish it was a 70 SS Chevelle with blue two tone..." Crap...It's my good ol bonnie. Ok, I take it.

bear in mind if you find the time... alot of auto parts stores can check the starter if you removed it and took it to them for testing to make sure whether or not it works before replacing

im into backyard performance hehe... removing the starter is not hard... its a pain and its time consuming but its not hard - just removing a couple bolts and pulling it out

but if you dont wanna venture into it... try to find some close members to help... i would but im sure im not close at all lol

You wont need a lot of skills to remove it. If you have a few tools and a garage to work in it's a snap, even for a beginner.

Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove wires from starter
remove two bolts holding starter to engine.
Wiggle starter out.

That's it. A bit cramped but not to bad.

the only real pain will be getting to it. You will have to work around a few things. But if you simply don't have the tools and skills, we understand.

Im the kind of guy when I fix stuff...it turns to crap. My wife did say that it tried to catch when she turned it over but it stopped and the lights on the console started to flicker....it must be a ground. I live in New Paris, OH

That sounds like a bad battery or corroded connections. A bad starter would more then likely not work at all. It sounds like the starter is engaging and not getting the amps it needs. That's why the lights are flickering. Now, you said you checked the connections at the battery. So that leaves at the starter. Hmm, I seem to remember someone else having this problem with the battery in back. I'll do a search and see what I find. Right now I'm thinking the starter may be fine. There's a chance you have a bad cable also.

Dan, She said that it tried to turn over then died... I think its the battery. Can corrosion ground out a battery? After the first try she tried again... nothing... She won't do nothing but what seems like be in a self-check mode... I am worried that a mouse did some damage... Thx for all your help.

What your describing sounds like a dead battery. But didn't you say you tried jumping the car?
