Moved to 2000-2005 Bonneville section.

Does the squealing stop if you turn the air conditioner on or off? If so, may be a/c compressor bearings.

"Squealing" is a rather broad term. It is the belts squealing because they are slipping, or is it a rotating assembly squealing because a bearing is failing? Pull the belts and turn each pulley by hand to feel for anything other than smooth rotation. Check the belt and pulleys for signs of contamination that might cause slippage. Use a cardboard tube (core from wrapping paper for example) to listen so you can be more specific about where the squealing is coming from.

I wonder if the coolant in the pulley bearings has anything to do with it?

Possibly, but also possible the coolant on the belts has made them slippery.

i did the hose method and found it to be coming more from under the passenger side engine and only squeals after it hits a certain temp on the temp gage. i can wait for it to warm up and know right when it gonna start before it starts.when i accelerate it dis appears till i let off the gas.i did get antifreezw run down the block installing a new waterpump recently
