Windshield wipers problem
Small problem: why do my wipers "shutter" when they move sometimes? It is wierd. It was raining here yesterday and I put my wipers to intermittent. When they would wipe, they would stop for a fraction of a second and then finish. They did it on low setting also.
Why do they do this? To fix it, i turned them on high and then back to intermittent. It seemed to make them work normal.

I had the SAME problem, for like a week. I took it to my shop and they could'nt find anything wrong with them. It has'nt happened since and thats been close to a year now.
My driver side arm was a little loose, and one day while out in the rain it stopped moving. I had to tighten it down, maybe thats your problem...

For all you 2k plus guys.... what wipers do you use? Mine are about shot and I was thinking of getting new ones. Any personal favorites?
Offhand, (I'm not by my car), how many inches long are they? Last time I got them changed at lubestop!

I put triple edge blades on last weekend. Not bad. Not the best either.
It is funny about the wiper problem. Today it was sunny but cool. I tried the wipers and the problem was not there.
I don't get it...

Josh,
does the problem seem electrical or mechanical. A mechanical problem should be consistant, always flutters in the same place or has the same action. an electrical problem usually has no pattern (much like your desribing). check for loose connections its easy, unclip reclip is a good idea. another area may be the motor itself, a bit work involved but pull the motor check the brushes, blow out debris from the windings. Last thing maybe the controler which is very hard to nail down, after 20 years of electrical experience I say "when in doubt, change it out".

After 100K on my 2000 I've never had a problem with my wipers. I buy the cheap Canadian Tire ones (trico? always on sale too) and change out as soon as they streak too much. I keep a spare pair in the trunk and use 2-3 pair a year.

OK, how can I get some instructions on how to get to the wiper motor and module? This morning, very cold, it did it pretty bad. Then I went to high setting and back to low and it went away.

MY WIPERS DO THE EXACT SAME THING. I JUST GOT THE CAR AND IT SEEMS ONLY TO DO IT IN DELAY. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT JUST BE THERE WAY OF SLOWING DOWN THE WIPERS IN DELAY BUT IT IS WIERD. THE JUST SEEM TO STICK IN SO PLACES. I HAVE NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM WITH IT NOT IN DELAY

No, it doesn't. I usually switch to the winter blades because of the snowy, icy climate around here. The winter baldes that I refer to have the rubber envelope around them so to speak, and my car is outside all winter.
Does it really make that much of a deal to get winter blades as well as regulars?
