Jerking
First time here, hopefully this is helpful. I have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville SE V6. When I press the accelerator to take off, it jerks. Its like a kick. When I'm driving at a constant speed, whether around town or highway, it jerks when its shifting gears. My Check Engine light goes on and off. I have had the fuel filter, front mount, and transmission filter replaced. I was told that there are a total of 4 mounts on the car. I want to get all of the mounts replaced. Does anyone have any insight as to what may be going on? I would like to have an idea before I take the car to a diagnostics specialist.

Any of the engine/trans mounts could very well be bad..If you are getting an SES light i would look other wise.thinking along the lines of a TC or trans issue in general..But lets start simple..Testing your motor mounts...WITH THE ENGINE COOL..do not touch a hot engine...Place both hands one on the front and one toward the rear and rock it back and forth and see how much movement you have you should have a little but if yu have ALOT one or multiple are more than likely bad

Christy... Being that you had the front mount replaced, the rest should be fine. The only other one that I'd consider replacing is the rear trans mount. The two side mounts only hold the engine up and don't contribute to the symptoms you are having.
Please stop off at a local autoparts store that scans cars for free and get the actual code number (PXXX) that is stored in the car'* computer. We can help you much more with that information.
My first thoughts are that you have a P1811 stored and your EPC/PCS soleniod is acting up.

i would guess p0300 random misfire or specific misfire codes, because of worn out plugs and wires. but its a guess until you get the codes. how many miles do you have?

X3, You need to get the car scanned. If the engine light has come on, a code/codes should be stored. My first instinct was fuel related but you say the filter was changed. There are a number of possibilities and a code scan will help narrow it down alot. Motor Mounts do not trip the engine light.

a really bad front mount on this year/style can let the engine move enough that exhaust etc could flex enough and maybe cause further issues/KR. it'* not overly common, but if let go long enough... flexing will break other stuff.

If it comes back a misfire of a individual cylinder don't forget to check the coil to plug wire for corrossion. Very easy to inspect and it can cause this problem. I am in the specualtion camp of a coil, wire or plug related issue causing a misfire.
