Default Rear seat removal

Hi there,
Just got a 2000 SSEi last Friday. So far I love the car. However I have one problem with the driver side tail lights. At night the tail light doesn't illuminate. I replaced the both bulbs with 3057 type as specified. Didn't fix the problem. I think maybe the fuse may be blown, however looking at the owners manual I noticed the fuse for the left side tail light is under the rear seat cusion with the battery. I tryed following the owners manuals instructions for rear seat removal but I can't get it. Is there maybe a special way that one of you guys know. Maybe I am just being to easy, I just don't want to break my new car, that'* always my luck. Any info would be appreciated.

It just clips in from the front, grab a good hold of the edge and pull upward with a good grunt. Manuver the seatbelts to put it back in and push down to lock again.
