I have developed a water leak in the sunroof. I had a wet floor behind the driver seat and took it to the dealer three weeks ago. They said it was due to a blocked water drain and they "fixed it." Well, the floor was wet again Friday and the dealer has had the car since Monday. They have now said that the sunroof frame itself is leaking and a new ones costs $1200. They have contacted Pontiac for assistance with the matter to see if the sunroof can be replaced for free. Anyone else have this problem? I will not pay $1200 for a new sunroof. I'll either trade it in or silicon the sunroof shut. This sucks!!!

Some have had plugged drains, and a few have had the connections in the drains come loose. I believe you may be the first for the frame leak.

I had the drain leak, where it came apart in the drivers wheel well.The drain goes from sunroof down a pillar , thru dash where it joins another tube into wheel well.Sounds weird that the frame would leak and not soak your headliner, where did they say it is leaking.I also got a whole sunroof frame motor kit and Kaboodle from scrapyard for 300 bucks.There are a couple of models with same sunroof.To bad you werent closer I only used the glass and have the frame, but would be too hard to ship.

Get this, the dealer wanted me to authorize them to take the headliner out and look for a crack in the sunroof frame at the cost of $400. I basicly said FU and I would seal the sunroof with silicon from the outside first! I brought the car home this morning, removed both seats and pulled up the rug over the console. I then ran the hose over the sunroof, doors and windows for 20 minutes. What I found ticked me off to say the least. The water was coming in from the driver side door. I called the dealer and bitched the service manager out for 30 minutes over the mis-repair last month that was not needed, and the technician not finding the real cause of the leak when it took me a half an hour! the only thing he did was refund the cost of last months repair. Big deal, how about firing the tech who didn't find the leak, twice!!! Anyway, i used the search function and repaired the door water deflector. I put in a new winshield seal along with a bead of RTV to make sure it doesn't leak again. I should have researched the problem on here before taking it to the dealer in the first place.

Yes on researching here... so many members with these cars...it'* easy to see a pattern of where to look for problems.

Good for you , next time do your own research first those dealers **** me off.Especially for leaks,I asked the dealer when I was there where to check for leaks and they didnt have a clue, they were thinking A/C or evaporator or something.DIY first with BC.

Took about an hour and fortyfive minutes with removing seats, water check, putting seats back in, removing/reinstalling door panel and fixing the real problem.
