Default Shift Solenoid A Performance/Stuck Off

I have this code P0751 Shift Solenoid Perforamance/Stuck Off and my transmission is shifting hard, with a jerk from time to time. I would like to replace or repair this solenoid but I do not know where it is located or how to replace. Does anyone know what to do? Where do I find it and what does it look like?
Thanks,
Bob

This isn't an easy one to replace. Because of its location, the entire engine and transmission has to be tilted down in a particular direction to facilitate removal of the transmission sidepan. Which you will see in the first picture...

Once the cover is off, this is the solenoid that needs to be replaced...

It will take all day to change that. Yes, it can be done, but will be a lot of work.

Shift soleniod A is the one referenced by P0751.

In your year the easiest way will be to support the motor from above, unhook allthe items and remove the subframe, then use a jack to lower the driverside of the motor etc. This gives you room to pull the side cover and access all the soleniods.
