By-Pass Wastegate for more pressure
Has anyone tried to bypass or restrict vacuum to the waste gate?
I have done it on turbo charged engines with great success.
Mine has a manifold vacuum (pre-charger) hose connected on the top of the duel diaphragm and a solenoid controlled hose on the bottom (looks like post-charger vacuum/pressure source) If this disconnected will it build enough pressure to do internal damage IE head gasket/piston/bearing?? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated (negative or positive)
Thanks Doug :? :?

There is a mod to do this, but it is to prevent the computer from pulling boost at high speeds. If you want more boost put a smaller pulley on...

This technically wouldn't give you more pressure would it?
It would only give you max boost all of the time. At WOT, the boost bypass valve is closed and you are building maximum boost. If you were to disable the bypass, the SC would be working ALL of the time, robbing horsepower when boost is not necessary (ie. cruising down the road at 65mph)...
Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Isn't it kind of working all the time anyhow? Its just allowing the pressure to bleed off in stock trim, right? But the SC is always being turned by the belt.
Maybe I'm missing the point?

Yes, it is always turning, but when the bypass is open, it is bleeding pressure away from the underside. By doing this, the drag on the engine is less because the SC isn't working as hard.
