windshield wiper alignment
Is it possible for the wiper home position to get screwed up? So this morning my wipers were froze to the windshield and I had left the *dang* things on intermittent. When I started the car they tried to move but could not. They then tried again an broke loose. Going down the road I activated them and the left one got tangled with the right one and the whole wiper flew off. The arm is still there. So I will need to get a new one. No big deal. I did notice thought that the driver side arm seems to want to be down much farther then the left which may have caused them to get tangled. Any thoughts. Anyone have a photo of arm in home postion without the wiper blade on?

The severe torque probably caused it to jump the splines.
You will probably have to pull the arm off and re align it on the side that is wonked.
It really is best to lift the wipers off the windshield before starting in freezing conditions to ensure they are free. I always clear the windshield from snow and ice and give a little pull upwards. If it is just frost, I will often just cheat & let the windshield warm up completely before activating the wipers.
Also when it is subzero I let the car totally warm up for 20 minutes before using the power windows. To aid in motor action, I recently sprayed silicone on all the rubber seals to make it easier for the windows not to stick and to condition the rubber seals for winter conditions.
